The dual-SIM (Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM) Lyf Earth 1 sports a 5.5-inch Amoled display with a full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution, translating to a pixel density of 401ppi. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, coupled with Adreno 405 GPU.
The first smartphone designed for Reliance Jio sports dual rear cameras, with one 13-megapixel sensor and one 2-megapixel sensor. The Lyf Earth 1 also bears a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with 32GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 64GB).
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. The Lyf Earth 1 runs on a 3500mAh battery. Weighing 162.5 grams, it measures in at 154x76.6x7.25mm.
For now, there are no details of when the Lyf Earth 1 will be launched by Reliance Jio, or even when the company's 4G network will be rolled out to the public. The details of the Lyf Earth 1 smartphone were first reported by IBNLive, and have been independently confirmed by Gadgets 360 from Reliance.
As of now, Reliance Jio is only available for 1 lakh Reliance employees across India. Before this, it was only accessible in the Navi Mumbai office of Reliance, and now will over the next few months be put through a kind of beta test to see how effective the coverage is.
