It looks like Motorola is working on a new smartphone targeted at emerging markets.

Codenamed as DVX, the ultra-low cost smartphone from the Google owned company is expected to release in emerging markets later this year, if a report by PhoneArena is to be believed. However, the website doesn't offer any other details about the phone.

This comes as a sigh of relief to many who felt that the company has been out of action, barring random rumours of its much talked about Motorola X smartphone, ever since Internet giant Google acquired it. We're not sure if 'emerging markets' would also include India, where Motorola has shuttered down it's mobile device operations but Google might bring the device through its own Play Store channel and even subsidise it.

Motorola also finally dons a brand new logo, nearly an year after it was acquired by Google. The traditional "M" that is associated in Motorola logo is now enclosed in a colourful circle that includes vibrant colours such as Pink, Purple, Indigo, Blue, Green and Orange. Just below the colourful "M" circle, the logo features the 'motorola' (all lower case) brand name followed by the tagline "a Google company". This suggests that the dormant giant is all geared up for some action under its new owner.

There have been news reports suggesting that Motorola is planning to launch its much talked about Motorola X smartphone soon. CEO Dennis Woodside had confirmed at last month's AllThingsD conference that work on the smartphone was well underway.

Just two days back, a new purported photo of the Motorola X phone appeared online. As per recent leaks, this smartphone will pack in 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960 processor along with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone is expected to come with a 720p resolution display and 16GB of internal storage. The leaks also indicate that the alleged Moto X smartphone will come with a 10-megapixel rear shooter and a 2-megapixel front facing camera. It is expected to run Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean).
