Samsung Galaxy S10 Edge and Galaxy S10+ could have a dual-edge display

Samsung Galaxy S10 range was up until now rumoured to have three distinct models, including the original Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Lite, and Galaxy S10+. But it has now been spotted that the new range will have a model with the Edge moniker. This means there will be the Galaxy S10 Edge instead of the regular Galaxy S10 - sitting in the middle of the most inferior and the most premium versions. It has also been revealed that the Galaxy S10 models will come with pre-installed screen protectors.

According to online smartphone accessories seller MobileFun, the Samsung Galaxy S10 family will have the Galaxy S10 Edge, Galaxy S10 Lite, and Galaxy S10+ models that all will come with pre-installed screen protectors. The latest report indicates that after nearly three years since the launch of the Galaxy S7 Edge back in February, Samsung is now set to bring back the "Edge" moniker to its Galaxy lineup. This rubbishes all the previous reports that were claiming the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Lite, and Galaxy S10+ as the three key models by the South Korean company.

The fresh development also suggests that Samsung could eventually reserve the Galaxy S10 name for the 5G-supported 10th-anniversary model that is speculated to be the most premium smartphone by the company.

With the new name, the Galaxy S10 Edge is likely to sport a dual edge display panel - similar to the Galaxy S10+. The Galaxy S10 Lite, on the other hand, could come with a flat display panel, as reported in the past.

The report by MobileFun also claims that the Galaxy S10 range will come with a list of official accessories, including a new LED View Cover as well as a Silicone Cover, Clear Cover Protective Standing Cover, and a Leather Cover. The accessories are said to be available in various colour options such as Black, White, Green, Berry Pink, Blue, Navy, and Yellow.

With pre-installed screen protectors, the Samsung Galaxy S10 range will come closer to some of the Chinese flagships, including the ones from OnePlus, Vivo, and Oppo that all come with a screen protector installed out-of-the-box.

Samsung consistently offers premium glass protection on its smartphones, especially Corning's Gorilla Glass protection on its flagship models. However, since smartphones are becoming more and more fragile and prone to get damaged easily, it seems a welcome step to offer smartphones with pre-installed screen protectors.

It is worth noting here that Samsung has neither confirmed the development of the pre-installed screen protectors nor the Galaxy S10 Edge. It is, thus, better to take the new revelations with a pinch of salt.

Having said that, some previous reports suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S10 will come preloaded with features such as 'Bright Night' and 'Artistic Live Focus' modes. The new flagship could also have a Holographic tech to display 3D content on top of the display panel.
