Highlights
  • The DeX station will be bundled for free
  • Pre-orders are live in South Korea
  • Samsung Galaxy S8+ 6GB will be available in China as well

Last week, the Samsung Galaxy S8+ 6GB RAM variant went official on the company's South Korean website, and now the device is up for pre-orders. The 6GB RAM + 128GB storage Samsung Galaxy S8+ Midnight Black Variant can be pre-ordered for KRW 1,155,000 (roughly Rs. 65,200), and all pre-order customers will get the Samsung DeX station as a bonus.

South Korean site Yonhap News further reports that the 6GB RAM Galaxy S8+ variant is currently going to be made available only in South Korea and China, but it doesn't rule out international availability completely. Samsung will probably consider launching it in other markets depending on the demand, the report states.

In South Korea, there is also the option to pre-order the 4GB variant if need be, at KRW 990,000 (roughly Rs. 55,900). However, there will be no free DeX station bundled in. The 4GB Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ are up for pre-order in various markets across the globe. In India, pre-registrations have gone live, but there is no word on pre-orders, price, or overall availability.

The Samsung Galaxy S8+ 6GB variant sports identical specifications to the Galaxy S8+ 4GB variant, apart from the RAM and inbuilt storage increase. The 6GB RAM variant will also have the option to expand its storage further with a microSD card slot (up to 256GB). The Samsung Galaxy S8+ sports a 6.2-inch QHD+ (1440x2960 pixels) Super AMOLED display. It sport 12-megapixel 'Dual Pixel' rear camera with optical image stabilisation and an f/1.7 aperture, while there is an 8-megapixel front camera with autofocus on board as well, featuring an f/1.7 aperture.

The Galaxy S8+ will come powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 SoC (2.3GHz Quad + 1.7GHz Quad) in the US, while most international markets (including India) will get the Exynos 8895 SoC (2.35GHz Quad + 1.9GHz Quad). It supports wireless charging as well as fast charging, and the Galaxy S8+ packs a 3500mAh battery.
