Xiaomi is ending its exclusive partnership with Flipkart for online retail and will soon be selling its phones in India through Snapdeal and Amazon. Xiaomi had launched its brand in India through Flipkart and has been selling its phones online exclusively through Flipkart ever since, though it has also made half-hearted attempt at offline retail via Airtel and The Mobile Store.

(Editor's note: An earlier version of this article indicated Xiaomi will drop Flipkart in favour of Snapdeal. Xiaomi has now confirmed the Flipkart tie-up will continue as well.)

The company entered India with the Xiaomi Mi 3 which was launched on Flipkart in July 2014. Since then, it has released several handsets in India, which have been sold via Flipkart, usually through the flash sale model.

Over these last eight months, Xiaomi has been experimenting with different models to reach the market as well. In January, the company partnered with Airtel to sell the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G via Airtel's stores around India.

For Republic Day, the company also sold the phone without any registrations, and it has also piloted a refurbished and unboxed smartphone retail program in India. Recently, the company also announced a tie-up with The Mobile Store for offline sales of select phones.
