Sakri Launches Wintab Brand of Windows 8.1 Tablets in India

An Indian IT solutions company, Sakri, on Tuesday in collaboration with Microsoft and Intel has announced a new tablet brand dubbed Wintab for India, Bangladesh and Malaysia.

The company has launched two Windows 8.1-based Wintab tablets with 8-inch (1280x800 pixels) - the Wintab (TVE81J) - and 10-inch (1280x800 pixels) - the Wintab (TVE869J) - IPS displays, priced at Rs. 13,999 and Rs. 20,999 respectively.

Both Wintab tablet variants come with an Intel Atom Z3735D processor (4 core, 4 threads, 1.33GHz base clock, up to 1.83GHz burst, 2MB cache). The 8-inch Wintab (TVE81J) packs 1GB of DDR3L RAM, and 16GB of inbuilt storage, while the 10-inch Wintab (TVE869J) comes with 2GB DDR3L RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Both tablets come with expandable microSD card option (unknown capacity).

The 8-inch Wintab (TVE81J) comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front facing camera. The 10-inch Wintab (TVE869J) comes with 2-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Wintab (TVE81J) packs a 3800mAh battery, and the Wintab (TVE869J) features a 7500mAh battery. Both tablet devices comes with one-year subscription of Office 365 Personal plus unlimited cloud storage through OneDrive.

Commenting on the launch, Ravi Lakshman, CEO of Sakri, said, "Over and above the current form factors they will be introducing different form factors very soon to address different Industry verticals."
