Reliance Jio Summer Surprise Effect: Idea Offers Up to 10GB Per Month for Postpaid Users

As predicted by analysts, the Reliance Jio effect persists with the launch of the Jio Summer Surprise Offer, and rivals are still releasing counter offers to try and stem the tide. Idea on Thursday announced a postpaid promotional scheme it is calling the “Data Jackpot”, which offers up to 10GB of data per month, for three months, at Rs. 100 per month.

The Idea postpaid offer is exclusive to the My Idea app, and customers who opt for the Data Jackpot will get a minimum of 1GB per month for three months, at Rs. 100 per month, up to a maximum of 10GB per month. After the three months expire, those who opt for the offer will still be able to get 1GB extra data per month at Rs. 100. Idea notes the Data Jackpot offer is only available for subscription for a limited time, and adds that data benefits may vary from circle to circle.

While most telecom operators have several competitively priced data and voice packs for prepaid customers, they haven’t been releasing too many attractive postpaid plans recently. Idea last week however unveiled a 1GB per day prepaid pack for Rs. 300.

The 1GB data per day pack will be applicable for postpaid users with limited rental plan of Rs. 199 and above. It is discounted for the first three months of subscription, users can get this pack on discount. It’s worth noting that Idea users can avail of this 1GB/ day plan till April 30, 2017 only. The monthly rental pack will be valid till March 31, 2018 The data benefit of 1GB/ day is available on 4G handsets only, and 3GB/ month is given to non-4G handset users.
