Post Apple's announcement of a new Food and Drink category earlier this month, the section is now live in the iOS App Store. It lists thousands of paid and free apps.

To be more precise, there are 2800 paid and 4000 free apps in the iPhone section and over 1200 paid and 1000 free apps in the iPad section.

Most of these apps have trickled down from the Lifestyle section of the store. They cover various genres relating to food, recipes, drinks and cooking. However, topics related to dieting or shopping are not included.
