Nikon India unveils 17 new Coolpix compact cameras

Nikon India has announced the launch of its Coolpix Spring Series 2013 of digital compact cameras. The launch features 17 new models with 69 colour variants.

First up is Nikon Coolpix A that is the first digital camera to be equipped with a DX-format CMOS sensor. This gives the Coolpix A capabilities comparable to those of a digital SLR camera in a compact body. It comes with a newly designed wide-angle 18.5mm, f/2.8 fixed focal length Nikkor lens.

Nikon also launched the Coolpix P-series models, Coolpix P520 and Coolpix P330. High-power zoom camera Coolpix P520 is equipped with a 42× optical zoom NIKKOR lens that is capable of super-telephoto shooting at the equivalent of a 1000mm focal length. The Coolpix P330 comes with an effective pixel count of 12.2 million pixels and a large 1/1.7-inch backside illumination CMOS sensor which enables high sensitivities and less noise.

The S series sees the launch of 9 new models - Coolpix S9500, S9400, S6500, S5200, S4400, S3500, S3400, S2700 and S31 - that include features like Wi-F compatibility and built-in GPS.

The Coolpix L-Series comprises of 4 models (Coolpix L820, L320, L28 and L27) with features like an ultra-high power optical zoom to automatic shooting functions that makes taking pictures easy.

The AW series has a new camera in the form of Coolpix AW110, an outdoor camera built with waterproof resistance to a depth of 18 metres and advanced shooting support functions, Wi-Fi enabled, built-in GPS & World map and shock-proof upto 6.6 feet.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Hiroshi Takashina, Managing Director, Nikon India said: "Nikon, once again brings excitement to camera industry by rolling out new products and a new campaign which strives to make a strong connect with the consumers. With this launch, Nikon reiterates its commitment to offer products with stylish designs, vibrant colours that are equipped with easy functionality to capture precious moments of life."

With the addition of 17 new models, the Nikon Coolpix collection now has 22 models. All 22 Coolpix models are now available across the country.

Pricing

  • Nikon Coolpix A is priced at Rs. 54,950.
  • The Coolpix P Series models - P7700 (most expensive), P520 and P330 (cheapest) - are priced between Rs. 16,950 and Rs. 24,950.
  • The Coolpix S series models - S9500 (most expensive), S9400, S800c, S6500, S6400, S5200, S4400, S3500, S3400, S01, S2700 and S31 (cheapest) - are priced between Rs. 5,950 and Rs. 18,950.
  • The Coolpix L Series models - L820 (most expensive), L320, L610, L28 and L27 (cheapest) - are priced between Rs. 4,990 and Rs. 15,450.
  • Nikon Coolpix AW110 is priced at Rs. 16,950.
