Xbox Store 'Countdown' Sale Begins Tuesday

With just 10 days to go in 2015, Microsoft's end of the year sale for the Xbox Store - known as Countdown - is here, starting Tuesday. Don't be fooled by the name though, as it will continue into the New Year and the first week of January, until the 7th.

The sale is for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners, and the Redmond-based software giant is promising "up to 40 to 60 percent off" on digital games, with the discount stretching to more than 60 percent on some deals. Plus, Xbox Live Gold members can avail another 10 percent on all purchases.

Some of the biggest titles that will be available at a discount include Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Rare Replay, Fallout 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, and NBA 2K16.

Apart from this year's releases, Xbox One gamers will also have the chance to purchase backward compatible titles on sale. Last week, Microsoft increased the number of backward compatible titles on offer for its current-gen console by 16, adding games such as Fable III and Motocross Madness.

To check what will be on offer starting Tuesday, you can head to the sale page on the Xbox Store. As the sale will be broken up into daily and weekly deals, you will probably wish to bookmark that page for the next two weeks.

We have reached out to Microsoft for comment on whether the 17-day Countdown to 2016 sale will be available in India, but it's safe to say you can expect to see these deals as the US Black Friday sale made its way to the East as well.
