Every year, phones get slimmer and every year, we wonder why manufacturers don't just shrink the internals and use all the space they've saved for bigger batteries. We know there are millions of people who wouldn't mind trading a few mm extra and a few grams of weight for an hour or two more talktime. When you get to the end of a workday and your battery looks like it won't even last through the ride home, you know there's something wrong with the priorities of the industry.Gionee is one of the few companies that don't seem to want to make half their money selling extra chargers. The Marathon series of phones, so named for their long-lasting batteries, serves a segment of the market that really isn't so niche anymore. We reviewed last year's Gionee Marathon M3 (Review | Pictures) model and were fully satisfied that it delivered on its promise, although there seemed to be significant tradeoffs in other areas.
Gionee Marathon M4 Summary
The Gionee Marathon M4 has one purpose and fulfils it really, really well. Its 5,000mAh battery smashed through all our previous records, lasting a phenomenal 21 hours, 23 minutes of continuous video playback in our standardised test. Despite its considerable bulk and weight, this phone looks good and feels great in the hand. The screen is a bit low-res by today’s standards and the camera doesn’t do too well in low light, but everything else works great. The only thing Gionee really has to take care of is the atrocious quality of the translated English labels and help popups throughout its Amigo 3.0 UI.

gionee M4 is able for 0 starShahid Mustafa (Aug 20, 2015) on Gadgets 360I've bought it almost 12 days before, it is worst phone. It's everything is very poor including ram,camera,charging of battery,charger. It's everything work only in shop.1st day it had full charged only in 3 hours but after 10 days it take almost 20 hours to be full charged.It can't do any function properly, it will disappear while using any function. It's my humble request don't buy this phone in any case. my elder brother say's to me if U don't know about mobile phone then buy a brand phone.Is this review helpful?

Good phone with quirksName Less (Jan 29, 2016) on Gadgets 360Phone is good. Battery Life is excellent. I can manage 3 days with average use on normal battery saver mode. and 2 days with good (read: watching youtube) usage. Though the phone has its quirk. Too much Bloatware. apart from xender. I uninstalled(games) or want to uninstall( gionee messenger, battery save) every other app which came with it. Phone sometimes hangs and reboots randomly, about once in two weeks. Ultimately, I am satisfied with it. Quirks which last trouble me for few minutes are less important to me than charging phone everyday like every other phone nowadays. PS: the phone is not heavy. It is only somewhat heavier compared to rest of the phones.Is this review helpful?
