Genesys International Corporation has announced the launch of WoNoBo.com that brings Google Street View-like 360-degree walkthroughs to Indian cities. Users will be able to search, explore and share 'points of interest' across 12 major Indian cities and will soon be expanded to 54 cities.

With WoNoBo, users get full blown 360-degree views of destinations. They can access, tag and review points of interests like hotels, retail outlets, monuments, parks, etc. and also view the interiors of several key locations.

Additionally, Genesys has teamed up with tourism ministry to offer 'Walking Tours' of popular monuments at www.wonobo.com, with the ministry confirming that each Indian state will get at least one 'Walking Tour' on the website, with popular tourist destinations getting more than one tour.

The site has initially been launched for Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Goa, Pune, Ahmedabad, Agra, Jaipur, Surat and will be available on mobile devices soon.

"The Ministry is partnering with Genesys to create a Walking Tours platform, one of the first such initiatives to be undertaken in any country. We believe this innovative and entertaining technology will make it extremely easy for tourists to walk or drive through our most-visited cities," Tourism Secretary Parvez Dewan said.

Dewan also said that ministry's Incredible India website will link to Walking Tours on WoNoBo.

"It will add a completely new facility to our Incredible India campaign. Now, instead of having paper brochures, one can have all details in electronic format. The facility will be a great help for our domestic and foreign tourists," Dewan said.

Sajid Malik, CMD of Genesys, said, "Decades of global experience in the geospatial domain has enabled us to build India's first and most comprehensive navigation platform that also incorporates social media. We are confident that wonobo.com will be a major value creator for an entirely new ecosystem of business in the years to come."
