With the budget smartphone segment currently being dominated by Chinese vendors, it’s a tough job for Indian manufactures to make a mark. In the sub-Rs.10,000 price range, we currently have the Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime ruling the roost thanks to a good blend of features and performance.
Intex Aqua S7 Summary
The Aqua S7 is a budget offering from Intex which competes with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime and the LeEco Le1s Eco. The phone sports a 5-inch HD IPS display with good colour reproduction and viewing angles. The build and design of the phone is also pretty good and despite the plastic build, it feels sturdy and well put-together. It's powered by a MediaTek quad-core SoC along with 3GB RAM and 16GB storage. You can expand this up to 64GB through a microSD card. The Aqua S7 ships with Android Marshmallow, which is nice. Camera performance from the rear sensor is the major let-down here. Battery is also up to the mark. Overall, at Rs. 9,499, it's a worthy option if you can't land your hands on the obvious choices here.

The battery gets discharged and replacement not availableBinaya Bhusan Jena (Jul 18, 2017) on Gadgets 360I bought INTeX Aqua S7 8 months back. Initially, the battery was ok for about two months, then it started getting discharged fast and could only withstand for about 5-6 hours per day. After 6 months, the battery even at 70% of charge, the phone would shut down. This increased, today, even at 100% charge the phone does not work. I went to the authorised dealer, he refused to help me saying that the warranty is only for 6 months. Tried to replace a battery, unfortunately, I did not find one. To be honest, I always thought of buying Indian made products to encourage our own enterprises and brands, today feel cheated.Is this review helpful?
