Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop With Hexa-Core Intel Processor Launched

Acer is launching a variant of the 15.6-inch Nitro 5 gaming laptop with options for Intel Core i7+ processor. The Acer Nitro 5 is the latest device to join the growing number of gaming laptops that boast of being one of the first to include the 8th Generation Intel Core processor inside. Intel just rolled out mainstream Core i7 and Core i5 models, bringing its 8th Generation Coffee Lake architecture to more product segments. It started to roll out new Core i7+ badges for OEMs to promote desktops and laptops that use a Intel Core CPU as well as Optane Memory, the among the first companies to announce a PC that uses them is Acer.

The Acer Nitro 5 ships with the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i7 and Intel Core i7+ processors offering an improved six-core design. It also has its own Intel Optane memory as well. "These latest 8th Gen Intel Core mobile products are our highest performing, designed to push the limits of gameplay and content creation. In these new Intel Core i7 and Intel Core i7+ products, we're bringing together high-end CPU performance capabilities, increased system responsiveness and fast load times with Intel Optane memory, and built-in blazing fast Gigabit WiFi - all in a laptop design," said Chris Walker, Vice President, Client Computing Group and General Manager, Mobile Client Platforms, Intel. "The new Acer Nitro 5 blends these technologies into a fantastic design."

The laptop comes with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card. The Nitro 5 comes with up to 512GB of NVMe PCIe solid-state storage. It features up to 32GB of DDR4 memory. Also, Acer's NitroSense utility monitors the status of the CPU/ GPU and the CoolBoost technology adjusts the fans, the company said in a press release.

Acer, in the Nitro 5, has included the Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony technologies. The company has put in an Intel Wireless-AC 9560 2x2 802.11ac as well as Gigabit Ethernet to cover both wireless and wired connections.

The Acer Nitro 5 will be available in the US and Europe starting May. The base model of the laptop with Core i5-8300H processor, GeForce GTX 1050 GPU, 8GB RAM, and 1TB HDD has been priced at $749.99 (roughly Rs. 48,800). Meanwhile, for $849.99 (roughly Rs. 55,300), users can upgrade the GPU to a GTX 1050Ti and storage to a 256GB SSD.
