Asus Launches New A-Series Windows 10-Ready Laptops, Starting Rs. 23,990

Asus, on Monday, launched three models in its 'A-series' of laptops in India. All the three models come with two-year global warranty, with the cheapest model, the Asus A553, starting at Rs. 23,990. All three models are Windows 10-ready, and come pre-installed with Microsoft DOS.

The Taiwanese computer manufacturer launched Asus A553, A555LF, and A555LA laptops. While the first is supposedly a mid-range laptop available at a budget price, the other two offer higher-end hardware modules, and also come in variants with Windows 10 preloaded.

As for the specifications, the Asus A553 comes with a 15.6-inch HD (1366x768 pixel) display. It is powered by a quad-core Intel Pentium N3540 processor clocked at 2.16GHz, with a Burst Frequency of 2.66GHz, and 2MB of L2 cache The laptop comes with 4GB of RAM, and 500GB 5400rpm hard drive. On the connectivity side, there's a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI port, and support for Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi. It will be available in Purple, Pink, White, and Black colour options.

Both A555LF and A555LA come with 15.6-inch HD (1366x768) displays. Both are powered by a dual-core Intel Core i3-4005U processor (with four threads) clocked at 1.7GHz with 3MB L2 cache. Both the models come with 4GB of RAM, 1TB 5400rpm hard drive, Intel HD Graphics 4400 GPU. The A555LF and A555LA come with two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI port, and support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity options.

The A555LF, which is priced starting Rs. 34,190, also comes with a choice of a discrete Nvidia GeForce 930M 2GB DDR3 GPU, and an Intel i5-5200U processor. The variant comes with Windows 10 and 8GB of DDR3 RAM.

The A555LA, which is priced starting Rs. 28,990, comes in Dark Brown, Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, and White colour variants. The A555LF comes in Blue, Dark Brown, and Red colour options.

Commenting on the launch of the laptops, Peter Chang, Regional Head of South Asia and Managing Director for Asus India said, "The Indian market is extremely price sensitive where the consumers look for a value-for-money purchase. The 'A' series is crafted for performance, style and mobility but at the same time is economically friendly which can be used for everyday use ranging for gaming, entertainment to educational purpose and office work. With our A555LF laptop, it will be a best buy for this festive season, delivering a seamless technological experience to our consumers."
