ASUS X102BA laptop with 10.1-inch touchscreen display unveiled

Asus has launched a new laptop, the X102BA targeting students.

The Asus X102BA laptop comes with a 10.1-inch (1366x768) display with support for 10-point multi-touch. The laptop is backed by the AMD A-Series APU and includes 2GB of RAM with a 320GB hard drive.

The highlight of the newly launched laptop is Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 with full versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote that comes bundled with the system. The Asus X102BA runs Windows 8. It packs Asus' Super Hybrid Engine II technology that offers two-second resume from sleep time. It can deliver up to a week's standby time and comes with automatic data backup in sleep mode when the battery level drops below 5%, according to the company. The laptop also features SonicMaster audio technology and includes USB 3.0, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Asus has not revealed details about the pricing and availability of the X102BA laptop yet.

Earlier, Asus launched two new MeMO Pad tablets, the MeMO Pad 8 and MeMO Pad 10.

The Asus MeMO Pad 8 comes with an 8-inch IPS display with 1280x800 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera that can record 720p videos and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Asus MeMO Pad 8 comes with 8GB of internal storage and supports a microSDXC card slot for expansion. On the other hand, the Asus MeMO Pad 10 comes with 10-inch IPS display with 1280x800 pixels resolution. The tablet weighs 522 grams. The MeMO Pad 10 sports a 2-megapixel rear camera which can record HD videos and also includes a 1.2-megapixel front camera for video chat. It is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. The Asus MeMO Pad 10 can deliver up to 9.5 hours of battery life with HD video playback.
