Asus X555 Laptop With 15.6-Inch Display Launched Starting Rs. 28,999

After launching the Asus ROG GL552 gaming laptop in India last week, the Taiwanese tech company on Monday launched two models of its X555 laptop in the country - the X555LJ-XX177H and the X555LJ-XX132H. The laptops come with a starting price of Rs. 28,999. While the Asus X555LJ-XX177H is available from large format retail stores, the Asus X555LJ-XX132H is available exclusively from Asus exclusive stores only.

The two variants of the Asus X555 multimedia laptops share the same set of specifications except the processors. While the Asus X555LJ-XX177H is powered by an Intel Core i3-5010U processor (2 cores, 4 threads, 2.1GHz base clock), the Asus X555LJ-XX132H houses an Intel Core i5-5200U Processor (2 cores, 4 threads, 2.2GHz base clock, 2.7GHz Turbo).

The Asus X555 runs Windows 8.1, and features a 15.6-inch HD (1366x768 pixels) resolution LED-backlit display with an aspect ratio of 16:9. It comes with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and Nvidia GeForce GTX 920M (N16V-GM-S) GPU with 2GB of DDR3 video RAM, apart from integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500.

Besides an webcam, the Asus X555 houses a 1TB (5400RPM) SATA 2.5-inch HDD and an optical drive (8.9mm 8X Super Multi with Double Layer). In the connectivity section,the X555 sports an RJ45 Ethernet jack, a headphone and mic combo jack, a VGA port (D-Sub), one USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 ports, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, and one HDMI 1.4 port. It weighs 2.3kg, and measures 382x256x25.8mm. It runs on a 37WHr 2-cell Li-ion battery.

Some of the other features bundled with the Asus X555LJ-XX177H and Asus X555LJ-XX132H are SonicMaster and AudioWizard-powered audio. Both are available in Glossy Dark Brown colour variant. In addition, the devices house the Asus IceCool technology which the firm says prevents heat build-up on the palm rest. The laptop comes with a 348mm keyboard coupled with a numeric keypad.
