The Asus ROG Phone, which was recently launched in India at a price of Rs. 69,999, has been subjected to scratch, burn, and bend tests by popular YouTuber JerryRigEverything. The phone passed through all of the tests with flying colours, including the dreaded bend test, where extreme pressure is applied on both sides of the phone.

In his usual scratch test, Zack from JerryRigEverything found the ROG Phone starts scratching at level 6 in Moh's hardness scale, with deeper grooves appearing at level 7. This result is at par with most flagships such as the iPhone XS and Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (Review) and means the phone will hold up well to to keys and coins.

The back of the smartphone is made predominantly of glass and remained unscathed during his testing. Even the camera sensors as well as the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor survived his razor. In the video, Zack notes that the sides of the phone as well as the power and volume buttons are made out of metal and the two USB Type-C ports on the right side are covered with a rubber flap. He also notes that the metal earpiece and bottom speaker grille have a copper-coloured plastic layer on top.

In the flame test, the 6-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display showed a permanent white burn mark after 32 seconds. As mentioned above, the phone survived the bend test, but did exhibit minor flexing. In the video, Zack also tears down the AeroActive Cooler accessory which latches onto the back of the phone and is said to lower the temperature of the phone by up to 4.7 degrees. There's a fan inside and the back panel is made of plastic, which Zack claims is the one of the worst thermally conductive materials.

The Asus ROG Phone is powered by a special speed-binned Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor clocked at up to 2.96GHz and features an AMOLED display with HDR support and 90Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, Android Oreo out of the box, and a 4,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0.
