The major highlight of the Gionee Marathon M3 is that it packs a massive 5000mAh battery, compared to the 4200mAh battery in the M2. The company listing claims the battery can deliver up to 32.46 hours of talk time on 3G, and up to 51 hours of talk time on 2G networks, or 32.8 days of standby time. Gionee had launched the M2 in February this year, alongside the Gpad G4.

The dual-SIM Marathon M3 runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS One Glass Solution (OGS) display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 processor coupled with an ARM Mali 450MP GPU and 1GB of RAM.
The Gionee Marathon M3 comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard.
On the connectivity front, the Marathon M3 includes 3G, Wi-Fi, WLAN Direct, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio and Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP. It includes a proximity sensor, accelerometer, and compass (magnetometer).
The handset measures 144.5x71.45x10.4mm, and weighs 180.29 grams (without battery).
