Google Pixel's successor will expectedly be unveiled by the search giant later this year but the renders of the smartphone have now been leaked on the Internet. While the earlier leaked images suggested that Pixel XL will come with narrow bezels much like modern flagship Android smartphones, the new renders indicate that the regular variant of the smartphone will come with the same wide bezels as the last year's model. Sadly, the 3.5mm headphone jack might also not be making its way to this year's models of Google Pixel as well.

Venture Beat's Evan Blass has shared renders of Google Pixel's 2017 model, aka Google Pixel 2, which suggest that the smartphone will not come with several features that are usually associated with modern flagship Android smartphones. In the shared renders, we can see that apart from thick bezels, there is no dual camera setup.

As per Venture Beat's report, HTC has been assigned to manufacture the smaller of the two models and while it will be binging its front-facing stereo speakers (BoomSound) and EdgeSense features to the Pixel series, it will not be introducing edge-to-edge displays to Google Pixel. However, LG has been assigned with the task of manufacturing Pixel XL's successor, aka Google Pixel XL 2, and will be implementing narrow bezels on the smartphone, just like on its LG G6 smartphone.

Unfortunately, one of the things that Venture Beat is quite sure about is that Google will be ditching 3.5mm headphone jack with the upcoming generation of Pixel smartphones and instead will be using other connectivity options to fill in the gap.

Separately, Google has slashed the prices for both Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones as we lead up to the launch of the next generation in few months' time. Google Pixel's 32GB model is now available with $125 discount at $524 (roughly Rs. 33,400) while the same storage variant of Pixel XL smartphone is down $200 from its launch price and now retailing for $569 (roughly Rs.36,300), as per a report by Android Central. Additionally, the search giant is also offering a free Google Daydream VR headset along with every Pixel purchase to sweeten the deal.
