The iBall Andi4 IPS Gem and Andi4 IPS Velvet have been priced at Rs. 5,699 and Rs. 5,199 respectively. Both the dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) and dual standby smartphones run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box.
Notably, the Andi4 IPS Gem and Andi4 IPS Velvet come with quite a few common specifications, with the only difference being the former's support for 3G connectivity - a strong selling point in this price segment.
The budget Android smartphones from iBall both feature a 4-inch IPS display with a (WVGA) 480x800 pixel resolution and a pixel density of 233ppi. A dual-core (unspecified chipset) Cortex A7 processor powers both the Andi4 IPS Gem and Andi4 IPS Velvet devices, clocked at 1.3GHz, along with 256MB of RAM.
Both iBallsmartphones sport a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera also onboard. The Andi4 IPS Gem and Andi4 IPS Velvet comes with 2GB of inbuilt storage, and can be expanded up to an additional 32GB via microSD card.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB, GPS/A-GPS, EDGE/GPRS and 3G support (only in Andi4 IPS Gem). Both the iBall Andi4 IPS Gem and Andi4 IPS Velvet are backed by a 1300mAh battery with no word on talk time and standby time.
Earlier in May, iBall launched two entry-level 3.5-inch Android smartphones in India, the iBall Andi 3.5 KKe Winner and Andi 3.5 KKe Genius - priced at Rs. 3,499 and Rs. 3,999 respectively.
