A new report claims that the long-rumoured two iPhone 6 models - with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays - will also see a difference in their processors and touch modules.

Cowen & Co. Analyst Timothy Arcuri, citing Asian supply chain checks, in a note tipped that the rumoured larger iPhone 6 model (5.5-inch) will pack a more powerful processor compared to the 4.7-inch iPhone 6.

No real details about the processor differences between the two anticipated iPhone 6 have been given in Arcuri's note (reported by Apple Insider). However, the report tips that the difference could be more than just variation in clock speeds of both the rumoured iPhone 6 models - something Apple has already with different clock speeds on its iPads and iPhone models.

Apart from clock speed, Acuri said the processor on the alleged 5.5-inch iPhone 6 model could come with a larger die, indicating more on-die additions (possibly graphic processing cores or co-processors) and what could be a significantly architecture.

Additionally, Acuri suggested that both the rumoured iPhone 6 models may sport different touch modules from each other, and those currently manufactured for the iPhone 5s by Taipei-based TPK, which is also said to be making the silver-nanowire components for the anticipated iWatch.

An earlier report indicated the expected Apple A8 chips will a deliver clock speed of up to 2GHz - a major upgrade from the company's Apple A7 chipset in the iPhone 5s with a clock speed of 1.3GHz.

Another report citing people familiar with Apple's plans had claimed that Taiwanese Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC) started shipping the chips for next generation iPhone devices. Reports have been tipping that the Apple A8 SoCs would be 64-bit and come with two cores.

Last week, a report claimed an all-new launch date of October 14 for the iPhone 6 that was not in-line with previous leaks.

Apple was also rumoured to debut a 128GB storage variant for its next iPhone. However, it was said that the 128GB storage variant would be limited to the bigger variant of the rumoured iPhone 6, and the alleged 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will offer the conventional 64GB as its maximum storage variant.

We remind readers however that nothing is official yet, and that all such leaks must be taken with a pinch of salt.
