iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus India Prices Official - Exactly What We Reported on Sunday

The official announcement on the India prices of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is here. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be available at a starting price of Rs. 53,500 and Rs. 62,500 respectively for the 16GB variant, in line with what NDTV Gadgets had exclusively reported on Sunday.

The iPhone 6 64GB and 128GB have been priced at Rs. 62,500 and Rs. 71,500 respectively. Meanwhile, the iPhone 6 Plus will come at Rs. 71,500 for the 64GB variant, and Rs. 80,500 for the 128GB variant. All prices are in line with what we had reported earlier.

Late on Sunday, Apple sent an email confirming October 17 availability of the two new iPhone models.

Apple's authorised distributor Ingram Micro on Monday announced that it will be taking pre-bookings of the latest iPhone 6 series from October 7 in India. The authorised distributor further confirmed that all the six models of the iPhone 6 series will be available across retail stores from October 17.

Ingram Micro told PTI that it will "offer iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the biggest advancements in iPhone history, at leading modern trade stores and retail outlets across India beginning 17.10.2014 at 12:01am. Customers can pre-order both models beginning 7.10.2014 at 12:01am at the major retail outlets of the partners."

Apple sells iPhone in India via its trade partners Redington, Ingram Micro, Rashi Peripherals, and Reliance.

The iPhone 6 features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display with a resolution of 750x1334 pixels offering a pixel density of 326ppi. The iPhone 6 Plus, on the other hand, comes with a 5.5-inch Retina HD display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and a pixel density of 401ppi.

Both the new iPhone models pack the latest Apple A8 processor with 64-bit architecture and M8 second-generation motion coprocessor.

Apple has included an 8-megapixel iSight camera with phase-detection autofocus, while there is a 1.2-megapixel FaceTime camera onboard. Other features included in both the iPhones are Touch ID home button fingerprint sensor, barometer, 3-axis gyro, accelerometer, and ambient light sensor. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and LTE.
