Lava Iris 349+ budget smartphone available online for Rs. 3,499

Lava has launched the Iris 349+ smartphone in the Indian market. The smartphone is the successor to the Iris 349 that was launched in March, earlier this year and is now available through online retailer, Flipkart for Rs. 3,499.

The Lava Iris 349+ features a 3.5-inch HVGA TFT display with a resolution of 320x480 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz processor with 256MB RAM. It comes with 512MB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB with the help of a microSD card. It is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device and supports dual standby. The phone sports a 2.0-megapixel rear camera with fixed-focus and supports up to 8x zoom. The smartphone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread which is now outdated, considering Google launched the latest iteration of Android, Android 4.3, earlier this week. The device ships with a 1400mAh battery that Lava claims, delivers up to 5 hours of talktime and 250 hours of standby time. Other features include FM Radio, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS and EDGE. The smartphone doesn't support 3G.

With the launch of Lava Iris 349+, the company now has a total of 12 smartphones under its Iris smartphone range. Lava has been aggressively launching Android powered smartphones in India, expanding its smartphone range. The company launched Lava Iris 504Q with gesture support for the Indian market at a price of Rs. 13,499, recently.

The Lava Iris 504Q sports a 5-inch display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. The smartphone packs in a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32GB via microSD card. Lava Iris 504Q runs Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). The phone features an 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with BSI sensor, and a 2-megapixel front snapper, and is powered by a 2000mAh battery. The gesture control features on Lava Iris 504Q can be used for clicking photos, changing tracks on the music player and video player, tuning FM channels and browsing the multimedia gallery on the smartphone.
