It seems teasers are the new big tool for promoting smartphones ahead of official launch. We saw LG teasing its flagship smartphone, the LG G2 ahead of launch. Now it's the turn of the Indian handset maker Lava to promote its much-anticipated smartphone, the Iris Pro.

The company has released a video on Facebook that reveals the design, display and the rear panel of the device. Lava has also been teasing the smartphone on its official site for more than a week now.

The teaser video comes with a tagline, "We put the art in Smart". The video confirms some of the specifications, like the Iris Pro features a HD display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. It also shows the rear camera accompanied by dual LED flash and the availability date as August 25. Currently, not much is known about other specifications of the device and the possible pricing.

The video also suggests that the company is teasing the Iris Pro series which means that there can be more devices in the Iris Pro portfolio. However, there is no word on other devices at the moment.

Prior to this, the company launched the Lava Iris 504Q with gesture controls. It features a 5-inch display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. Iris 504Q packs in 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32GB via microSD card. Lava Iris 504Q runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. For camera, there is an 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with BSI sensor. The smartphone also has 2-megapixel front snapper on-board and is powered by a 2000mAh battery. It is priced at Rs. 13,499.

Here is the teaser video.
