Highlights
  • The 'Dash Charge' trademark was filed last month by OnePlus.
  • The technology said to come inside the OnePlus 3 smartphone.
  • OnePlus 3 base model said to be priced at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 20,400).

OnePlus 3, the upcoming flagship smartphone from OnePlus that will launch in Q2 this year, is now expected to feature 'Dash Charge', which is rumoured to be the company's own fast charging technology. OnePlus 3 variants and price have also been tipped in another report.

As spotted by PocketNow, OnePlus last month has filed a trademark with the USPTO for the name "Dash Charge", which is said to be the company's take on Oppo's VOOC, Qualcomm's Quick Charge, and Samsung's Fast Charge technology. In the trademark, the company says Dash Charge is a technology related to mobile electronics. However, no details were mentioned.

It is worth mentioning that OnePlus 2, although being powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, missed out on the Qualcomm's Quick Charge feature. Since only the name has been spotted until now, it is anybody's guess as to exactly what feature or technology it is.

In a separate report by Gizmochina, it has been once again tipped that the OnePlus 3 will arrive in two variants: 4GB of RAM + 32GB of inbuilt storage and 6GB of RAM + 64GB of inbuilt storage. While this was rumoured before as well, the report citing a OnePlus employee adds that the smartphone will be priced at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 20,400), which presumably is the price for the base model. Although OnePlus has not yet confirmed any of the aforementioned claims, the piece of information should be taken with a spoonful of salt.

It is worth mentioning that OnePlus 3 was allegedly spotted with 6GB of RAM in a recent benchmark testing. The 4GB of RAM version was also spotted in benchmarking websites back in March this year.
