Last month, OnePlus CEO Carl Pei had expressed his displeasure about all the criticism of the OnePlus 3 display, and clarified the company's stance for not including sRGB mode. Ultimately, Pei gave to the feedback from the customers, and had confirmed that OnePlus would bring sRGB in the next update. Now, OnePlus 3 users have started to receive the big OxygenOS update with all the promised changes.

There is no official announcement from OnePlus, but OnePlus 3 users have taken to the forum to confirm that they have started to receive the OxygenOS 3.2 update. Our review unit hasn't received it yet, but the new version is said to to bring the sRGB mode, improved RAM management, and better GPS performance.

As mentioned, this update is largely in response to feedback from users regarding the display colour rendering. Pei displeased with all the negativity had clarified that ditching sRGB was a strategic product decision, and OnePlus had not tried to 'cut corners' with the OnePlus 3 to price it competitively. Pei said that the company did not compromise on the product but instead it "cuts corners on business model (direct to consumer), org structure (nimble and fast team), and marketing (organic word of mouth focused)."

The update is about 396MB size, and the changelog also includes latest Google security patches, enhanced audio playback quality, updated custom icon packs, improvements in camera, and fixes for issues reported in notifications, and apps like Gallery, Clock and Music. OnePlus 3 users have also mentioned in the forum that the update has also fixed an issue with the magnetic sensor. The issue was causing problems when the OnePlus 3 was used with a Cardboard style VR headset.
