OnePlus, the smartphone start-up run by ex-Oppo executive, Pete Lau, has now revealed details about its upcoming 'One' smartphone.

Lau on the company's official forums, has announced that the yet-to-be-launched OnePlus One smartphone will be powered by the recently unveiled Snapdragon 801 processor and will pack 3GB of RAM. Notably, OnePlus will be unveiling the much-anticipated One smartphone on 23 April 2014.

The forum post further details that the One will use the MSM8974AC chipset (Snapdragon 801) clocked at 2.5GHz, and will feature a an Adreno 330 GPU clocked at 578MHz. The forum also informs that the smartphone will come with newer eMMC 5.0 standard which will allow device to reduce the time needed to copy, move, open, edit and save content.

It's worth pointing out that the OnePlus One will join the likes of Sony Xperia Z2, Oppo Find 7 and ZTE Nubia X6 smartphones, which also boasts the combination of Snapdragon 801 and 3GB of RAM.

Lau on the official forum post said, "As some of you have already noticed, we have made the decision to make a change to the system on chip that we're using in the OnePlus One. It is our philosophy to constantly look to improve on everything we do. Once again we want to live up to that philosophy and prove ourselves to you. We will Never Settle and we hope that you won't either."

In January, OnePlus announced its partnership with CyanogenMod to launch the One smartphone in select markets, saying that the companies would eventually expand the device's availability in more markets.

"The OnePlus One will be the fastest phone on the market. The OnePlus One will be unique to offer both the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 as well as a full 3GB of RAM. I am very confident that everyone will see how impressive your phone experience can be with the One. With the amazing experience that CyanogenMod offers combined with all the great features that we've packed in," Lau added.
