Pricing Details of Xiaomi's Smartphone Set to Launch on Thursday

Xiaomi is gearing up for Thursday's event in New Delhi where it will give the world a glimpse of its latest smartphone. The event is Xiaomi's first major launch outside of China, and there's been plenty of speculation regarding the phone's specifications and other details in the last couple of weeks. Now, NDTV Gadgets has learnt the first bit of information regarding the phone's pricing.

Reliable sources tell us that the smartphone will be priced between Rs. 12,500 ($200 approximately) and Rs. 14,500 ($230 approximately). We would like to point our for the benefit of our international readers that is the contract-free price of an unlocked smartphone, in line with most other smartphones sold in India.

Unfortunately, we haven't received any fresh information on the specifications of the new Xiaomi smartphone, with the company using the last few days to provide hints on the build, battery life, and display of the phone that's expected to be called Xiaomi Mi 4i, though the name hasn't been confirmed yet.

As per the previous leaks, the smartphone is tipped to feature Android 5.x Lollipop, a 64-bit 1.65GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of RAM, a 4.9-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display, a 12-megapixel rear camera, a 4.8-megapixel front camera, and 16GB of built-in storage.
