Redmi Note 9 Pro series would go on sale through Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Home stores, and preferred offline retailers shortly after the official launch.

Redmi Note 9 series is expected to debut with quad rear cameras

Redmi Note 9 series launch in India has begun with Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain taking the stage to talk about the product. He began the event by saying that the Redmi Note 9 launch event was cancelled due to the current "circumstances" which means the coronavirus pandemic that's plaguing the world right now. Xiaomi will be asking 9 questions during the Redmi Note 9 launch event to have a chance to win prizes, Jain said. He then went on to say that Xiaomi shipped more smartphones than any other brand's feature phone and smartphone combined tally. He also claimed that the company has sold over 100 million devices under the Redmi brand in India. Then he unveiled the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max smartphone.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro price in India is Rs. 12,999 for the 4GB RAM, 64GB storage variant, and Rs. 15,999 for the 6GB RAM, 128GB storage variant. The Redmi Note 9 Pro goes on sale on March 17. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max price in India is Rs. 14,999 for the 6GB RAM, 64GB storage variant, Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB RAM, 128GB storage variant, and Rs.18,999 for the 8GB RAM, 128GB storage variant. This smartphone will be available from March 25.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max specifications

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has what Xiaomi calls the Aura Balance design, which places a lot of importance on symmetry. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has a 6.67-inch display, which is the biggest screen seen on a Xiaomi phone. The width of the device is the same as the Redmi Note 8 Pro, but since the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has a 20:9 display, it isn't as wide and that's why it has a similar footprint. This smartphone has a 3.5mm headphone jack, an infrared emitter, along with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, which is embedded in the power button. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the front and the back. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is available in three colours - Aurora Blue, White, and Interstellar Black. This device has a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It also has a 32-megapixel primary sensor.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC, which we've recently seen in the Realme 6 Pro. This smartphone has up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB UFS2.1 storage, with a dedicated microSD card slot. This smartphone has Navic support, which is basically support for Indian GPS satellites. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has a 5020mAh battery, with a 33W fast charger. Xiaomi claims that it can charge the battery from 0 to 50 percent in under 30 minutes.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro appears to have fairly similar specs when compared with the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. The Redmi Note 9 Pro ships with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC and it has two variants: 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, along with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage. This smartphone has a quad rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a five-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. This smartphone has a 16-megapixel selfie camera. 

The Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 5020mAh battery, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and the back, a 6.67-inch display with a full-HD+ resolution. Both these smartphones a P2i coating to make the device splash-proof.
