Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update Reportedly Rolling Out in India

Samsung has reportedly started rolling-out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to Galaxy Note 3 Neo (SM-N750) smartphones in India. The smartphone was launched with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in February this year.

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is reported to be carrying build number N750XXUCNG6, and rolled-out over-the-air and via Samsung Kies update. Galaxy Note 3 Neo (SM-N750) users can also check for the update by tapping on the Settings> About Phone> Software Update.

As posted by an XDA developer forum member on Monday, the lock screen of the Galaxy Note 3 Neo now features a camera shortcut, and shows album art while playing music. The status bar strip which contains icons like battery, is now coloured white, while notifications drawer icons have changed as well.

Last month, Android 4.4 KitKat update schedules for five Samsung smartphones was leaked in a document.

The handsets in question were  the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy Grand 2 Duos (Review | Pictures), Galaxy Mega 5.8 (Review | Pictures), Galaxy Mega 6.3, and Galaxy Note 3 Neo (Review | Pictures). The leaked document had suggested that Samsung has finished testing the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS for these devices.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo comes with a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) Super AMOLED display; 2GB of RAM; 16GB inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 64GB via microSD card, and a 3100mAh battery. The new phablet from Samsung sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and BSI sensor, while there is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera onboard also featuring a BSI sensor. Connectivity options on the device include Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth, Infrared and 3G.
