Highlights
  • Sony earlier slashed the smartphone's price by Rs. 10,000 last year
  • Xperia X was launched in May last year
  • The phone is powered by Snapdragon 650 SoC

The Sony Xperia X, which was launched in May last year, is currently available under a limited period discount on Flipkart of Rs. 14,000 in India. This discount brings down the price of the smartphone to Rs. 24,990. The Sony Xperia X was initially announced at MWC 2016, before being launched alongside the Xperia XA in the country. The smartphone is currently listed with a discount on Flipkart.

Notably, Sony earlier cut the price of Xperia X by Rs. 10,000 from initial price of Rs. 48,990 to Rs. 38,990 just three months after its launch in September. Flipkart says the new Rs. 24,990 price for the Sony Xperia X Dual will be available till stocks last.

The Sony Xperia X features a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) Triluminos display for mobile powered X-Reality for mobile engine. The Xperia X is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM.

In terms of optics, it features a 23-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor, predictive hybrid autofocus, and pulse LED flash. At front, the Sony Xperia X has a 13-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The phone comes with 64GB inbuilt storage, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 200GB). Sony Xperia X houses a 2620mAh battery, measures 142.7x69.4x7.9mm and weighs 153 grams.

Interestingly, despite the price cut and the limited period discount, the Sony Xperia X smartphone is still priced higher than other phones with the Snapdragon 650 SoC, such as Redmi Note 3 Pro. It will be interesting to see if the Sony Xperia X price cut will be able to generate enough interest for the device for the consumers.
