Sony's rumoured Xperia Z1S variant has been spotted in a leaked live image. The Sony Xperia Z1S has made multiple appearances on the Internet previously via leaked renders but this is the first time the device has been spotted in live images.

The latest leaked image comes from ePrice, which claims that the yet-to-be-announced smartphone was spotted at a headphone announcement event in Taiwan. The image shows the Xperia Z1S in White colour, though only the front panel is visible. However, the alleged device appears to be an exact copy of its elder sibling, the Xperia Z1, in terms of design.

On Thursday, a rumour claimed that the Japanese giant will be unveiling another compact variant of the Xperia Z1, the Xperia Z1S on November 12 at an event in Shanghai. However, there were no details revealed about specifications and pricing of the phone. Prior to this, a press render of the alleged Xperia Z1S was leaked online.

The Sony Xperia Z1S has been believed to be the international variant of Xperia Z1 f (or Xperia Z1 mini), which was launched in the Japanese market, earlier in October, announced under Japanese telecom operator NTT DoCoMo's winter smartphone line-up. It is expected to be released in late December 2013, but no pricing details were revealed by Sony and NTT DoCoMo. The phone shares a lot with the Xperia Z1 in terms of hardware, barring the size of the display.

Specifications of the Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F) include a 4.3-inch TRILUMINOS HD (720x1280) display with X-Reality for Mobiles; 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8974 processor; 2GB of RAM, much like its elder sibling and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

The Xperia Z1 has been manufactured by a single aluminium frame with tampered glass on back and front panel. It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable up to 64GB with the help of microSD card. The highlight of the Xperia Z1 f is again the 20.7-megapixel Exmor RS sensor alongside its BIONZ image processor engine and pulsed LED flash, as seen in Xperia Z1. It also includes a 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera.
