Spice, Micromax, and Celkon Launch 9 Phones Exclusively on HomeShop18

HomeShop18 on Wednesday announced the launch of nine new Android-based smartphones under Rs. 7,000, from three companies - Spice, Micromax and Celkon. The smartphones namely Spice Mi-347, Spice Mi-401, Spice Mi-402, Spice Mi-501, Spice Mi-514, Spice Mi-551, Spice Mi-6115 PDA, Micromax Canvas A82 and Celkon Campus A356 will be exclusively available via HomeShop18.

"The industry has witnessed highest mobile phone sales in the Rs. 5,000 - 15,000 price category, enabling India's movement towards becoming the second largest smartphone market by 2016. Thus, with this launch, we are providing our customers a plethora of mobiles from multiple brands that will certainly match their preferences and style," said Sundeep Malhotra, Founder & CEO, HomeShop18.

Priced at Rs. 2,499, the dual-SIM (2G) Spice Mi-347 (see above) runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and features a 3.5-inch HVGA (320x480 pixels) display. Other specifications include a single-core 1GHz (unknown chipset) processor; 256MB of RAM; a 2-megapixel rear camera with flash; no front camera; 512MB internal storage with microSD card support (up to 32GB), and a 1300mAh battery.

The Spice Mi-401 is priced at Rs. 2,599. It also runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and supports dual-SIM (2G) connectivity. The specifications of Spice Mi-401 include a 4-inch HVGA (320x480 pixels) display; a single-core 1GHz (unknown chipset) processor; 256MB of RAM; a 2-megapixel rear camera with flash; a 1.3-megapixel front camera; 4GB internal storage with microSD card support, and a 1300mAh battery.

Coming to the Spice Mi-402 (see below), the phone is priced at Rs. 2,999. It packs specifications identical to the Spice Mi-401, except that it supports 3G connectivity and bears a 3.2-megapixel rear camera.

The two Android 4.4 KitKat based smartphones from the company, dubbed the Spice Mi-501 and Spice Mi-514 are priced at Rs. 4,499 and Rs. 5,999 respectively.

The dual-SIM (3G) Spice Mi-501 features a 5-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixels) display; a single-core 1GHz (unknown chipset) processor; 512MB of RAM; a 5-megapixel rear camera with flash; a 1.3-megapixel front camera; 4GB internal storage with microSD card support, and an 1800mAh battery.

On the other hand, the dual-SIM (3G) Spice Mi-514 features a 5-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixels) display; a single-core 1GHz (unknown chipset) processor; 256MB of RAM; an 8-megapixel rear camera with flash; a 1.3-megapixel front camera; 4GB internal storage with microSD card support, and a 2000mAh battery.

Priced at Rs. 6,999, the dual-SIM (3G) Spice Mi-551 (see below) runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. It includes a 5.5-inch qHD(540x960 pixels) display; a quad-core 1.3GHz (MediaTek MT6582M) processor; 1GB of RAM; an 8-megapixel rear camera with flash; a 3.2-megapixel front camera; 8GB internal storage with microSD card support, and a 2200mAh battery. The last of the lot from Spice, the Spice Mi-6115 PDA hasn't been listed or detailed by the company.

Micromax's offering, the Micromax Canvas A82, is priced at Rs. 5,499 and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. The dual-SIM (3G) Spice 501 features a 5-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixels) display; a dual-core 1.3GHz (unknown chipset) processor; 512MB of RAM; a 5-megapixel rear camera with flash; a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front camera; 4GB internal storage with microSD card support, and an 1800mAh battery.

Lastly, the only offering by Celkon in this exclusive HomeShop18 partnership - the Campus A356 - hasn't been listed or detailed by the company as yet.
