Electric car maker Tesla has released a powerbank that can charge an Android or iOS device on the go. Called the Tesla Powerbank, it is now available to purchase via the company's online store at $45 (roughly Rs. 2,900).

The Tesla Powerbank comes with USB, Micro-USB, Apple Lightning and detachable connections, to be able to charge a variety of devices. It uses single 18650 cell with 3350mAh capacity, a cell that's also found in its Model S and X electric vehicles, Engadget.com reported on Saturday - though of course, more than one of these cells to power the cars.

As per the Tesla site listing, the Powerbank was designed and inspired by the Tesla's supercharger monument at the Tesla Design Studio.

Of course, last week, Tesla also launched the much-anticipated Semi - a big-rig electric truck touted to have better cost per mile ratio than diesel trucks, apart from other benefits. Tesla says the Semi with its four motors is capable of going from 0 to 60mph in 20 seconds when carrying 20,000 pounds, 65mph per hour uphill, and travelling 500 miles on a single charge with max load. Diesel trucks are capable of travelling up to 1,000 miles (1,600 km) on a single tank of fuel. Production is said to begin in 2019, with a $5,000 (roughly Rs. 3,24,000) reservation open now.

Tesla also unveiled the new Roadster, and called it the world's fastest production car. The sports car is an updated version of Tesla's first production vehicle. It can seat four and travel 620 miles (1,000 km) on a single charge, a new record for an electric vehicle, Musk said. It can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour (100 km per hour) in 1.9 seconds, which would make it the fastest car in general production.
