Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G India launch date is set for April 27, the Chinese company has announced. The new Xiaomi flagship was unveiled alongside the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X in China in December and debuted in some global markets in March. The Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G comes with features including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and a 50-megapixel primary camera. It also carries up to 12GB of RAM as well as up to 256GB of onboard storage. The Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G in India will compete against the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G that debuted last month.
On Tuesday, Xiaomi shared a 'Save the Date' teaser to inform the press about the launch of the Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G in India. The launch will take place on April 27. Xiaomi also separately posted a tweet to announce the launch publicly.
It is currently unclear whether the Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G India launch will take place virtually or at a physical event.
Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G price in India is rumoured to start at Rs. 65,000. Official details are yet to be revealed. However, the phone was launched in China with a starting price of CNY 4,699 (roughly Rs. 56,200) for the base variant that has 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The phone also comes in an 8GB + 128GB option that is priced at CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs. 59,800) and the top-end 12GB + 256GB model at CNY 5,399 (roughly Rs. 64,500).
The Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G debuted in global markets with a starting price of $999 (roughly Rs. 76,100) for the 8GB + 256GB model.
Xiaomi has created a dedicated webpage for the Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G launch on its official Mi.com site. The webpage suggests that the specifications of the phone in India will be aligning with its model available in the global markets. The Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G debuted globally with MIUI 13 and a 6.73-inch WQHD+ (1,440x3,200 pixels) Samsung E5 AMOLED display that carries 1,500 nits of peak brightness and a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, along with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It comes with the triple rear camera setup that offers a 50-megapixel Sony IMX707 primary sensor, along with 50-megapixel portrait and ultra-wide shooters.
For selfies and video chats, the Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G comes with a 32-megapixel camera sensor at the front.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G offers up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It comes with a range of connectivity options that include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. There is also an Infrared (IR) blaster.
Xiaomi has equipped the new flagship with a 4,600mAh battery that supports 120W fast wired charging. There is also 50W wireless charging support.
