Xiaomi, HCL Partner on Service Centres in India With Aim to Ramp Up After-Sales Support

HCL Care Services announced on Wednesday that it will launching exclusive Experience Service Centres (ESCs) for Xiaomi smartphones in India. The service centres will be available in 28 cities including all Tier-I cities of North and East India and major Tier-II cities across the country.

The partnership between Xiaomi and HCL comes as the Chinese smartphone manufacturer further expands its presence in India and improves the user experience. Through these service centres, Xiaomi aims to provide users with a one-stop shop for services, accessories and insurance requirements for Xiaomi customers.

The subsidiary of HCL says that it has already commissioned 37 out of the scheduled 40 ESCs and has deployed a workforce of 250 people on it. In within the next two years, Xiaomi and HCL expect to handle over 43,000 calls from them. HCL insists that these centres are cost effective, simple and have a scalable service support model that comply with Xiaomi's end customer.

"We are delighted to strengthen our association with Xiaomi by introducing Exclusive Service Centres for their leading-edge phones. We are confident that these state-of-the-art service centres will enable Xiaomi to cater to the Indian markets more effectively and efficiently," said Mr. Sharad Talwar, Head of Consumer Services at HCL Services.

Liu Tao, Head of After Sales at Xiaomi Technology India, elaborated in a press statement, "A key focus for us in 2016 is scaling up our after sales support and this partnership is a step forward in this direction. We are pleased to announce these exclusive service centers with HCL Care and hope that with this partnership will provide an enhanced and localized experience to our customers."
