Xiaomi, after the launch of its Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime, is now once again in the spotlight for its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Mi 5. While we have heard some rumoured specs about the smartphone previously, a new report claims to show the AnTuTu benchmark result of the Mi 5 handset. A new set of purported specifications has also surfaced on the Web.

According to a report by Xiaomi Today, the rumoured Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone is seen scoring a impressive 73,075 points in the benchmark result. Furthermore, the high score on AnTuTu is said to be due to the deca-core CPU found on the MediaTek Helio X20 SoC.

Previously it was said that the rumoured Mi 5 would run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. However, ever since the news of Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor heating up, the Chinese smartphone maker is said to have shifted to MediaTek SoC. However, rumours also have it that both the rumoured Mi 5 and the Mi 5 Plus might run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. We will have to wait for Xiaomi to unveil the Mi 5 of course, to see its choice of chipset.

Meanwhile, another report from the same publication surfaces a fresh set of rumoured specifications for the Mi 5 smartphone. As per the report, the Xiaomi Mi 5 would be the first to run on the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, clubbed with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 530 GPU. The handset is said to feature a 5.3-inch QHD (1440x2560) pixels resolution display with pixel density of 554ppi, and arrive in 16GB or 64GB inbuilt storage variants with no option for expandable storage. The smartphone is also tipped to sport a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and be backed by a 3030mAh battery. Additionally, the device will reportedly sport a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel, apart from including a USB Type-C port. It would also come with the latest MIUI 7 pre-installed, based Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Unfortunately, there was no information on the anticipated larger Mi 5 Plus handset, which was rumoured last month. The handset is said to house a 5.7-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) display, much like the Mi Note Pro, apart from a Snapdragon 820 SoC, a 3500mAh battery, a 23-megapixel rear camera with OIS and laser autofocus, and a 12-megapixel front camera.

Of course, as with all rumours and leaks, we advise readers to take the above information about the Xiaomi Mi 5 with a pinch of salt, as Xiaomi has yet to make any announcements about its new flagship smartphone and the credibility of the sources cannot be independently verified.
