ZTE Grand S II With 5.5-Inch Display, Snapdragon 800 SoC Launched in India

ZTE has announced its Grand S II smartphone for India. The Chinese company has announced that the smartphone will be available by the first week of December in the country, and said it will announce the pricing ahead of launch.

The smartphone was initially announced at CES 2014, and went on sale in China earlier in April priced at CNY 1699 (Rs. 16,375 approximately).

The single-SIM ZTE Grand S II features a 5.5-inch full-HD display and runs the dated Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8674) chipset alongside 2GB of RAM.

The ZTE Grand S II features a 13-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash, while the front houses a 5-megapixel camera. The smartphone comes with 16GB inbuilt storage which is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It packs a 2500mAh battery, measures 157x77x7.9mm and weighs 120 grams.

Last month, ZTE announced the Grand XMax phablet priced at $199.99 (approximately Rs. 12,000) on Cricket Wireless in the US.

The ZTE Grand XMax comes with Android 4.4 KitKat and features a large 6-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.

Prior to this, the Chinese manufacturer had launched the ZMax with T-Mobile at an event in New York - pegging it as a low-cost large-screen alternative to the iPhone 6 Plus.

The ZTE ZMax offers single-SIM support and features a 5.7-inch TFT LCD display with a 720x1280 pixel resolution. It also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. A quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8926) processor powers the device, clocked at 1.2GHz, coupled with an Adreno 305 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
