ZTE, expanding its Grand smartphone line-up, has launched the Grand S II at CES 2014. As of now, the Chinese handset maker has not revealed the pricing and availability details of the ZTE Grand S II.

The highlight feature of the Grand S II is the voice recognition unlocking, voice photography and an upgraded ZTE My-drive assistant. The company claims that the device can be unlocked with the owners' voices with a simple voice command. Further, the ZTE Grand S II can also snap an image via voice command. Lastly, My-drive assistant features a higher voice recognition rate, and also enables users to more accurately receive calls, listen to messages and play music via voice commands, according to the company.

Unfortunately, the company has not revealed the specifications of the Grand S II, though Engadget has reported some of the specifications of the device. The ZTE Grand S II runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080p) display, though no word on screen technology. The smartphone is powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 chipset alongside 2GB of RAM. There is a 13-megapixel rear camera, while the front houses a 2-megapixel camera. The ZTE Grand S II comes with 16GB inbuilt storage, with no word on expandable storage support. It packs a 3000mAh battery.

Commenting on the launch, Zeng Xuezhong, EVP and Head of the Mobile Devices Division, ZTE said, "We pulled out all of the stops with the Grand S II; we built upon the success of the original Grand S, and added the latest high-performance hardware and features, including voice control. We developed this technology internally and feel that it represents a significant leap forward in man-machine interaction. The Grand S II will be the first of many ZTE products that will demonstrate our innovation in this area."
