Apple seems suddenly all too interested into gaming. The Cupertino-based company, which is expected to launch the next generation Apple TV that can function as a gaming console for iOS games on September 9, has now created an App Store Games Twitter account to tweet about gaming apps.

On Thursday, Apple created a Twitter account named @AppStoreGames wherein it is showcasing some of the best games available on its App Store. The company plans use this Twitter feed to feature interesting game titles, and talented game developers. Moving forward, it also plans to tweet sneak preview of games, share tips and tricks, it told The Verge. The account is run by App Store editors.

The account signals company's growing interest in gaming, and further cements the rumours that suggest that Apple plans to launch the next generation Apple TV with gaming focused features at the event. Multiple reports suggest that Apple plans to finally refresh its set-top box, and launch it alongside the anticipated iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

The next Apple TV is reportedly getting a major hardware boost - an improved remote with Siri button, motion sensors, an Apple A8 SoC, and bring support for Bluetooth game controllers. The company is said to pitch its new device as both a media streamer and set-top box, as well as a casual gaming console. It is expected to come in two storage variants: 8GB and 16GB, with the former priced at $149 (roughly Rs 9,800) while the latter rocking at $199 (roughly Rs. 13,000).
