Asus at its pre-IFA 2014 event in Berlin launched the MeMO Pad 7 (ME572C and ME572CL) tablet, alongside two laptops dubbed Zenbook UX305 and EeeBook X205. Asus also announced its first ever Android Wear-powered ZenWatch at the event.
The MeMO Pad 7 (ME572C) and MeMO Pad 7 (ME572CL) are identical, except the latter also sports 4G LTE connectivity. The tablet runs on Android 4.4 KitKat tablet with the company's ZenUI onboard, and is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 (up to 1.83GHz) processor coupled with PowerVR Series 6 - G6430 GPU.
The tablet features a 7-inch WUXGA (1920x1200 pixel) IPS LED-backlit display with a 323ppi. Asus is touting the wide 178-degree viewing angles, plus ASUS TruVivid and ASUS Splendid technology. Asus says the MeMO Pad 7 (ME572C) will come in 2 storage variants (16GB and 32GB). It features a 5-megapixel rear camera, and 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Miracast, GPS, and Glonass on the MeMO Pad 7 (ME572C), while the MeMO Pad 7 (ME572CL) features 4G LTE, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE in addition. The tablets feature dimensions of 114.4x200x8.3mm, and weigh 269 grams. They will be available in Burgundy Red, Champagne Gold and Gentle Black colour variants.
Asus also announced what it claims to be the world's slimmest laptop - the Zenbook UX305. Featuring an aluminium body, the Zenbook UX305 laptop boasts of a 12.3mm thickness. It also features a 13.3-inch QHD+ (3200x1800 pixel) display.
The Zenbook UX305 laptop is powered by an Intel Core M processor and features an inbuilt storage of about 256GB. The laptop weighs 1.2kg, and is available in Obsidian Stone colour variant only.
Lastly, Asus introduced its EeeBook X205 laptop, which runs on Windows 8.1 with Bing. The laptop also features an 11.6-inch display. The laptop also includes a Connected Standby technology that enables the device to connect with the apps quickly as soon as the user activates the EeeBook X205 from the sleep mode. The EeeBook X205 laptop will be available in Black, White, Gold and Red colour variants.
