Rumours about the early release of Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron began doing the rounds last week, but on Wednesday Disney (Marvel's parent company) officially confirmed that the movie will be releasing on April 24, a week before its release in the United States. According to Disney, the film will have the widest ever release for a Hollywood film in India, and will release simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, as well as English.

This early India release is steadily becoming the norm for most blockbuster movies. A large portion of movie revenues are now generated from the "overseas market", i.e., outside the United States of America. For example, going by only the US revenues, films like Transformers: Age of Extinction and Pacific Rim would be considered flops, but have become hits thanks to global revenues.

Superhero film buffs have been looking forward to this film since the release of the Avengers in 2012. The trailer for Age of Ultron has us worrying for Captain America, although we don't think the bad news will happen in this film anyway.

Age of Ultron is going to be - in some ways - a more challenging film to make, since it keeps all the original Avengers, but adds a new villain Ultron (the first film used Loki, who was already familiar to audience from Thor) and several new characters such as Vision, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. The film is also expected to introduce Wakandans, for the eventual Black Panther movie, and possibly Inhumans, who might have a very important role to play in the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Marvel has a good track record with team-ups - the first Avengers movie, and last year's Guardian's of the Galaxy could be the best films in the MCU so far and that's why Age of Ultron was on our list of the ten films we're most excited about in 2015.
