Creative has launched the Creative Woof 3, the successor to last year's Woof 2 portable Bluetooth speaker, in India. It is available for purchase in the country starting Monday on Snapdeal commerce website. The speaker retains the Rs. 3,999 price tag of its predecessor.

The tiny bucket-shaped Woof 3 portable speaker has metal alloy shell that the company claims stabilises the speaker for cleaner audio. It's a welcome change, since the design of Woof 2 was criticised by many for being impractical. The speaker also comes with a built-in microphone to facilitate phone calls and houses a 500mAh battery, which should last for six hours.

The speaker offers four-way music playback, wireless audio streaming over Bluetooth, and comes with an integrated mp3 and flac player with support for lossless audio. The speaker also offers the ability to control music playback remotely.

On the connectivity front, the Woof 3 speaker supports Bluetooth 2.1 with support for Enhanced Data Rate, a 3.5 mm Line-in (Aux-in). There's a USB port and a card reader as well. A user can connect their computer using a microUSB cable. One can also use the Aux-in cable to connect the speaker to an analog device.

It is available for purchase on Snapdeal at Rs. 3,999, with a version, at the time of writing, faring at Rs. 2,499. The Woof 3 portable speaker comes in four colour variants: Blue, Red, Golden, and Winter Chrome.

Creative has released a number of portable speakers and headsets in the country this year. In October, it launched the Sound Blaster FRee portable speaker, priced at Rs. 7,999.
