Amazon, Flipkart, Xiaomi hold festive sales
E-commerce players Flipkart and Amazon started their second online sales of the festival season on Monday, offering discounts on iPhone 6s, iPhone 5s, Lenovo Zuk Z1, and smart TVs. China's 'Xiaomi also held a Diwali sale, offering the Redmi 3S and Mi Bluetooth speaker at Re. 1, along with discounts on the Mi 5, Redmi Note 3 as well as accessories like Mi In-Ear Headphones and Mi Capsule Earphones, among others.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 banned by more airlines
Samsung Galaxy Note 7, surrounded by controversy about its exploding battery, has been banned by many more airlines. Fliers in Australia and Japan have been advised not to bring the now-defunct Samsung flagship phablet on flights. This comes days after a similar mandate in the US and other countries.

Moto Z, Moto Z Play to go on sale in India
Moto Z and Moto Z Play smartphones will go on sale Monday at 11:59pm in India, priced at Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 24,999, respectively. The new Moto Z has a 5.5-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, 13 megapixel rear camera, Android Marshmallow and 4G LTE support. On the other hand, Moto Z Play has a 5.5-inch full-HD screen, Snapdragon 625 chipset, 3GB RAM, Android Marshmallow, 16 megapixel camera on the back, and 4G LTE.

Facebook Messenger adds data saver option
The Android version of Facebook Messenger has been updated to include a data saver option to help users save cellular data. The new feature allows the users to manually download the images and videos that are sent to the users instead of the app downloading them automatically.

Porn rules as Patna logs online via railway station's free Wi-Fi
Patna tops the chart in the country in terms of Internet search using the free Wi-Fi service on railway stations. However, the maximum searches on the station were for porn sites, a railway official said. Jaipur, Bengaluru, and New Delhi railway stations follow Patna in internet searches on the free Wi-Fi networks.

Samsung to invest Rs. 1,970 crores in new Noida plant
Samsung has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh government under which it will invest Rs. 1,970 crores in its Noida-based manufacturing facility. As part of the MoU, the company would also be making smartphones for the ambitious free Samajwadi Smartphone Scheme.
