Airtel launches 'my airtel' app for Android, BlackBerry and Nokia, iOS coming soon

Bharti Airtel has launched a new 'my airtel' app for its Indian subscribers to let them manage their mobile, fixed line and DTH services.

The free app includes ability to check outstanding bills and un-billed amount, recharge accounts, make payments, activate or deactivate any VAS service like astrology, jokes et al. Users can also raise requests/ complaints and track their status. Customers of company's DTH service Airtel Digital TV can also order movies and games via the app.

'my airtel' app can be downloaded by logging onto airtel.in/myairtel or respective app stores. Currently this app is available through Google Play Store, BlackBerry App World, Nokia Store and is expected to launch on Apple App Store soon. To check the list of supported devices click here. If you wish to get this app via SMS you can do so by SMSing 'myairtel' to 54321.

Upon launch, a brief description of the app will appear along with two buttons, which will prompt you to either 'proceed' with the app or 'take a tour'. On proceeding further, the app will prompt you to enter in the details of your Airtel products. After registering your products, you can check usage details, manage services and check special offers. You can also set data usage alerts or reminders, and a lot more.

Announcing the launch of this app, K Srinivas, President-Consumer Business, Bharti Airtel said, "Data consumption in India has seen a sharp uptake. Today, Indian customers are increasingly accessing online content through cool apps as opposed to the conventional route of logging through browsers. In tune with these changes, we are pleased to launch our intuitive 'my airtel' app that has been designed to empower our customers and help them manage all their airtel services, effortlessly. The app comes with a smart layer of intelligence that will allow our customers to discover, access and self-manage a slew of services."
