Camera+ records 8 millionth sale; reveals Twitter, Google acquisition offers

The Camera+ app has been sold eight million times within just two years of its launch in the App Store, stated developer Tap Tap Tap on the company blog. This very popular camera app celebrated its second anniversary yesterday.

The app has been a unique success story on iOS devices. It provides a plethora of extra options over the stock camera app available on the platform.

Founder John Casasanta also took this opportunity to highlight the acquisition offers that his company was getting because of Camera+ . He revealed that Google, Adobe and even Twitter had recently approached Tap Tap Tap to acquire the company.

He however pointed out that they valued their independence and working for some big firm wasn't cut out for them.

"We greatly value our independence and in all cases, we've fended the suitors off and chosen to remain independent. Fiercely independent. We have a ton of things we want to accomplish here and working for some conglomerate or having bean-counting investors breathing down our necks simply isn't the way for us to achieve them," Casasanta wrote in the blog post.
