Explore the Red Planet with Angry Birds Space on iOS, Android

Earlier this month Rovio had announced an update to Angry Birds Space with a 30 second teaser. Now the Finnish gaming studio has officially launched the update in partnership with NASA.

A fiery new chapter has been unveiled in Angry Birds Space with 20 themed levels based on the Mars Curiosity rover.The swine community has hijacked the rover in an attempt to find the eggs.

The bird-on-pig rivalry continues with a new astronaut pig and two extra antenna egg levels. Players will find themselves in the environs of the Gale Craters, slinging the furious flock while dodging asteroids and volcanoes.

Whats more, Rovio is planning to launch a full fledged Red Planet variant, due to release this fall. Rovio has published a 50-second video teasing the game. it shows the Curiosity rover exploring the surface of Mars, a glimpse of the ice bird and what appears to be remains of a destroyed architecture of stones and wood.

Angry Birds Space is available for download from the iTunes store and Google Play store.
