Big Ant Studios, responsible for the stellar Don Bradman Cricket game, has confirmed a sequel slated to hit Steam next year.

The news comes via the company's Twitter account which replied to a fan query for a new game.

We got in touch with the studio and CEO Ross Symons confirmed the same, adding that it would be on the PS4 and Xbox One as well and due in the last quarter of 2016.

So far, the Don Bradman Cricket games have been made available on the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Don Bradman Cricket 14 was for last generation consoles and PC while a second release, simply titled Don Bradman Cricket hit store shelves this year for the PS4 and Xbox One.

Considering how complete these entries have been, it's hard to think what else Big Ant Studios can add to the formula. In the interim the company released Tabletop Cricket on Steam, a fast-paced, whimsical take on the genre.

Hopefully, the next Don Bradman game won't be as expensive at launch. This year's entry cost Rs. 4,099 at retail, making it more expensive than most games on either the PS4 and Xbox One.
