Red Dead Redemption 2 Special Editions to Be Announced Next Month: Rockstar

After a trailer that delved deeper into Red Dead Redemption 2's (RDR 2) lore and world, it appears that Rockstar Games will be lifting the lid on its special editions next month. A post on the developer's website not only showed off some new game screenshots but also confirmed RDR 2's multiple editions too, telling fans to stay tuned "for more Red Dead Redemption 2 info next month including first details about the game’s special editions and more."

With E3 2018 taking place next month, it's easy to think that Rockstar could unveil what to expect at the popular trade show. However the company isn't known for having much of an E3 presence if at all. Considering that the game's marketing rights reside with Sony, we could see more information at Sony's E3 2018 conference, just like we did for GTA 5 back in the day.

Since the game would be having multiple editions, we won't be surprised to see PS4 bundles or even a special edition console akin to the Final Fantasy XV PS4 Slim or the God of War Limited Edition PS4 Pro.

Previously, Red Dead Redemption 2's India price was revealed. Red Dead Redemption India price on PS4 and Xbox One is Rs. 3,999. The game is now available for pre-order on specialist game sites like Games The Shop with the likes of Amazon and Flipkart listing it shortly.

Compared to past Rockstar titles like the first Red Dead Redemption it's Rs. 1,500 more and versus GTA V on PS4 and Xbox One, it's Rs. 1,200 more. With every game seeing a price hike this generation, it's only natural for Rockstar to remain competitive, pricing Red Dead Redemption 2 on par with Sony's first-party exclusives like God of War and Gran Turismo Sport. Red Dead Redemption 2's release date is October 26.

While pre-orders for Red Dead Redemption 2 are now live, no freebies have been announced yet. It's perplexing to see the lack of special edition either, though we won't be surprised to see that available the same time it is globally, if at all. As is the case with most Rockstar release it's safe to say that Red Dead Redemption 2's standard edition could have a map and some physical extras like past games such as GTA V when it hit PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
